Grand Or Upright Piano Actions
Action Reconditioning - service or replace all worn, damaged or imperfect action parts, where needed
Action Rebuilding - replace ALL action parts with new parts
Regulating - service or replace all worn, damaged or imperfect action parts, where needed
Fine Regulating - meticulous adjustment, repeated as many times as required, to fully stabilize the geometry of the action. This requires substantially more work than ordinary regulating, as the adjustments in a piano action are interactive; that is, to adjust one parameter can cause a previous adjustment to change. This is needed more on grand actions, than on upright, because of the design. We are known and much in demand for our ability to satisfy particular pianists and clients in achieving the kind of tone and touch that is desired by the customer.
Voicing - tone regulation or adjustment. There are two kinds of voicing - one has the purpose of achieving evenness of tone across the scale of the piano. This is done to minimize variations in volume and changes in tone from one section of the instrument to the other. The second kind of voicing is overall tonal adjustment either to acoustics of the room and the preference of the owner(s), or to an objective standard in which the technician makes the piano sound as good as it possibly can.
